What Is Snap Math?
Snap Math is a supplemental math fluency program for students in grades 3 and up that helps develop strong number reasoning through consistent, strategy-focused practice. Unlike traditional fluency programs that emphasize speed and memorization, Snap Math encourages students to explore efficient strategies, discuss mathematical thinking, and reflect on their growth over time.
Designed to fit easily into existing instruction, Snap Math can be used as a daily warm-up, fluency block, intervention tool, math station, or review routine. Each lesson combines structured practice, SnapChecks, math talk, and reflection opportunities to help students build fluency with understanding. Available in separate Intermediate (Grades 3–5) and Secondary (Grades 6+) editions, Snap Math supports learners at varying readiness levels while complementing any math curriculum.
I’ve been teaching for over 20 years. With the (Snap Math) strategies that I’m using now, I see kids progressing so much faster and quicker in math and understanding a lot better than I have in previous years.

Snap Math is a strategy-based math fluency program that helps students build accuracy, flexibility, and confidence through short, purposeful routines. Instead of using stressful timed drills, Snap Math gives students consistent, low-pressure practice that helps math feel doable.
Snap Math is designed for teachers working with students in grades 3 and up. It is available in two versions: Intermediate (Grades 3–5) and Secondary (Grades 6+). It can be used by classroom teachers, interventionists, math specialists, tutors, and support teachers.
Snap Math isn't about racing through math facts. It's about building fluency through efficient strategies, flexible thinking, and confidence.
Students do complete short fluency checks called SnapChecks, but they're not high-pressure timed tests. Instead of focusing on who finishes the fastest, SnapChecks help students see their growth over time and celebrate progress as they become more efficient and accurate.
Throughout Snap Math, students learn and practice mental math strategies, reflect on what works for them, and track their own improvement. The result is stronger fluency, less math anxiety, and a more positive experience with math.
Snap Math is available in two versions. The Intermediate (Grades 3–5) version focuses on fluency with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The Secondary (Grades 6+) version strengthens fluency with whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and integers.
Each Snap Math kit includes a Teacher Guidebook in print and digital format, a consumable Student Workbook with SnapChecks and reflection pages, a Snap Math storage bag, a digital timer tool, a progress-tracking bookmark, and a class set of motivational math pencils.
Teachers can use Snap Math as a daily warm-up, fluency block, math station, small-group routine, intervention tool, review routine, or test-prep support. The routines are flexible, so they can fit into short or extended time blocks without disrupting the regular math curriculum.
Yes. Snap Math is a supplemental fluency routine that works alongside any math curriculum. It is not a full curriculum replacement. It helps strengthen fluency, strategy use, math talk, and student confidence within the routines teachers already use.
SnapChecks are built-in fluency checks that help teachers see what students understand, where they need support, and how their skills are growing over time. They are designed to guide instruction without turning fluency practice into a stressful testing experience.
Snap Math gives students repeated practice in a calm, predictable format. Students use strategies, talk about their thinking, track progress, and reflect on growth. That helps them see improvement over time instead of feeling judged by speed alone.
No. Snap Math is print-based and tech-light. It includes a digital timer tool, but it is not an app or online program. The format is designed for screen-weary classrooms that need simple, practical fluency routines teachers can use right away.
